IMPORTANT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
BEFORE OPERATION
1. Fill oil cup, and ensure oil is inserted smoothly.
2. Push in and turn the machine by hand for a few revolutions to ensure that the oil is
spread over all of the contact surfaces.
3. The sharpener must always be placed up in the locked position before starting.
CAUTION
a. Keep the machine in a warm environment during cold weather.
b. Turn the machine on and off briefly before running the machine continuously. This helps
prevent excess friction between contact surfaces.
c. Do not use excess oil. Only use grade NO. 30 motor oil.
SHARPENER OPERATION
1. Place the machine away from piles of material.
2. Drop the pressure foot lever located next to the operating handle.
3. Press the lever downward slowly, using firm pressure.
CAUTION
a. Do not operate sharpener without the knife in the machine.
b. Do not operate sharpener with cutting material laid in the machine.
c. Do not shut off motor while sharpener is in motion.
d. If the lever is locked in halfway, lift the lever to unlock and start again.
CARE
1. Clean lint out of the motor and sharpener twice a week.
2. Lint around screw mechanism of sharpener inside the cover must be cleaned once a
week.
3. Clean the knife slide by the slot cleaner once a day.
4. Remove lint from rollers in the base plate. To prevent accumulation of lint, do not oil
plate rollers. If rollers stick, remove them from the plate and wash in a cleaning solvent.
