12. Cleaning and maintenance
a) General
Before cleaning or maintenance, the speed controller must be turned off and the drive battery must be completely
disconnectedfromthespeedcontroller.Ifyouhavepreviouslydriventhevehicle,allowrstforallparts(e.g.motor,
speed controller etc.) to cool off completely.
Afterdriving,cleantheentirevehicleofdustanddirt,using,forexample,along-hairedcleanbrushandavacuum
cleaner. Compressed air sprays can be helpful as well.
Donotuseanycleaningspraysorconventionalhouseholdcleaners.Bydoingthis,electronicsmightbedamaged;
also, such means lead to discolouring of the plastic parts or the vehicle body.
Neverwashthevehiclewithwater,forexample,usingahighpressurecleaner.Asaresult,themotor,speedcontroller
and receiver will get ruined. The vehicle must not become damp or wet!
Towipethevehiclebodyuseasoft,slightlydampcloth.Avoidrubbingrmly;otherwisetherewillbescratchmarks.
b) Before or after each trip
Due to motor vibrations and shocks when driving, parts and bolted joints can loosen.
Therefore, before and after each trip check the following positions:
• Tighttofwheelnutsandofallboltedjointsofthevehicle
• Fastening of speed controller, on/off switch, receiver
• Bonding of the tires on the rims or tires‘ condition
• Fastening of all cables (these must not get into the moving parts of the vehicle)
Before and after each use, check as well the vehicle for damages. If you notice any damage, the vehicle
must not be used or operated.
If worn-out vehicle components (e.g. tires) or defective vehicle parts (e.g. a broken transversal arm) must
be replaced, use only original spare parts.
