The values marked with grey are the basic settings made by the manufacturer at the issuing time of these
operatinginstructions.Possibly,thespeedcontrollerofyourvehiclehasadifferentdefaultsetting;pay

Description of the setting functions:
• Function #1, the green LED ashes once briey: driving function
Herein the speed controller can be switched between the two driving functions, „forward/brake“ and „forward/brake/
backward“.
Inthesetting„forward/brake”backwardcanbeturnedoff;thisisoftenrequiredincompetitions.
• Function #2, the green LED ashes twice briey: motor brake
If you release the throttle lever on the transmitter or you move back the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter into
the neutral position, the vehicle slows down by itself. During this operation, the effect is just like the motor brake
function of a „real“ car, when you release the throttle pedal without stepping on the brake pedal.
Furthermore, this corresponds to the braking function of a conventional electric motor (a brushless electric motor
does not have strong magnets to stop the rotor).
• Function #3, the green LED ashes three times briey: undervoltage protection
If a LiPo drive battery is used, it is essential to ensure that the undervoltage protection is activated (we recommend
at least 3.0 V per cell). When operating a LiPo battery without undervoltage protection, the LiPo battery is damaged
permanently due to deep discharge!
If the speed controller with a 2-cell LiPo battery (fully charged about 8.4 V) and a shutdown voltage of 3.0 V/cell
measures a battery voltage of 6.0 V, the motor turns off to prevent the deep discharge of the LiPo battery.
When using a NiMH drive battery, you should disable the undervoltage protection. Alternatively, set the undervoltage
protection to 2.6 V/cell.
If the voltage of a NiMH/NiCd drive battery is under 9 V after turning on the speed controller, the speed controller
interpretsthisasa2-cellLiPobattery.Then,theshutdownwouldbeperformedat5.2V(2x2.6V).
However, if the voltage of a 6-cell NiMH/NiCd drive battery is over 9 V, e.g. in batteries with a relatively high voltage
level or just charged batteries), the speed controller interprets this as a 3-cell LiPo battery. Then, the shutdown
wouldbeperformedat7.8V(3x2.6V),whichisnormallynotdesired.Inthiscase,theundervoltageprotection
must be turned off.
