9. Operating the Model
a) Commissioning the Remote Control
Intheoperatinginstructionsfortheightmodel,onlythecontrolelementsareillustratedintheguresoftheremote
control.Theythereforeserveillustrationpurposesonly.Thefunctionoftheremotecontrolisexplainedinthesepa-
rately enclosed operating instructions.
b) Charging the Flight Battery
Chargetheightbatteryaccordingtotheinformationofthechargerused.Observethesafetynotesintheseoperating
instructions and the operating instructions of the charger.
c) Inserting and Connecting the Flight Battery
Figure8showsthepositionofthedrivemotor(1),ight
controller(2),elevatorandrudderservos(3),theightbat-
teries (4), the connection cables of the aileron servos (5),
theplugsystemoftherechargeablebattery/ightcontrol-
ler (6) and the receiver installation site at the side of the
fuselage (7).
Afterremovingthecanopy,theightbatteryispushedinto
the fuselage from the front and secured with hook-and-
loop tape in the area of the wing.
The precise position of the rechargeable battery is deter-
mined by the centre of gravity.
d) Setting the Centre of Gravity
Themodelmustbesetbyproperplacementoftheight
battery (and, if required, by addition of lead) so that the
centreofgravityisapprox.46mm(+/-3mm)behindthe
nose strip of the wing.
To do so, mark the corresponding centre of gravity position
atthebottomofthewingwithapen.Fromthebottom,hold
theassembledandready-to-ymodelatthemeasuredpo-
sitionswithyourindexngers(oracorrespondingdevice).
If the centre of gravity is set correctly, the model should be
leaning slightly forward.
