7. Information on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
Although use of batteries and rechargeable batteries in everyday life is a matter of course today,
there are many dangers and problems.
In particular in LiPo/LiIon batteries with high energy content (as compared to conventional NiCd or
NiMH batteries), various provisions must be complied with to avoid danger of explosion and re.
Therefore, always observe the following information and safety notes in handling of batteries and
rechargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave any batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around openly. There is a risk of batteries being
swallowed by children or pets. In this case, see a doctor immediately!
• Tochargetheightbattery,removeitfromthemodelandplaceitonare-proofsurface.Keepadistance
toammableobjects.
• Asthechargeraswellastheightbatteryheatupduringthechargingprocess,itisnecessarytoensure
sufcientventilation.Nevercoverthechargerandightbattery!Ofcourse,thisalsoappliesforallother
chargers and rechargeable batteries.
• Never charge rechargeable batteries unattended.
• Donotexposethechargerorightbatterytohigh/lowtemperaturesortodirectsolarradiation.
• Disconnecttheightbatteryfromthechargerwhenitisfullycharged.
• Chargersmayonlybeoperatedindryrooms.Chargersandightbatteriesmustnotgetdamporwet.
• Batteries/rechargeablebatteriesmustneverbeshort-circuited,disassembledorthrownintore.There
isadangerofexplosion!
• Leakingordamagedbatteries/rechargeablebatteriescancausechemicalburnstoskinatcontact;there-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Liquidsleakingfrombatteries/rechargeablebatteriesarechemicallyhighlyaggressive.Objectsorsur-
faces that come into contact with them may take severe damage. Therefore, keep batteries/recharge-
able batteries in a suitable location.
• Donotrechargenormalnon-rechargeablebatteries.Thereisariskofreandexplosion!Onlycharge
rechargeable batteries intended for this purpose. Use suitable battery chargers.
• Observethecorrectpolaritywheninsertingbatteriesintothetransmitterorconnectingtheightbattery
totheightcontroller(positive/+andnegative/-).
• Ifthedeviceisnotusedforanextendedperiodoftime(e.g.storage),removetheinsertedbatteries(or
rechargeable batteries) from the remote control to avoid damage from leaking batteries/rechargeable
batteries.
• Recharge the rechargeable batteries about every 3 months. Otherwise, deep discharge may result,
rendering the rechargeable batteries useless.
