Pulling the throttle lever directly from forward to reverse at one stroke activates the brake function of the drive
using the motor brake (the vehicle does not travel in reverse).
To switch directly from forward to reverse, rst push the throttle lever away from the handle and then move it to
the neutral position (the motor brake will be engaged if the vehicle moves forward during this phase). Pushing the
throttle lever away from the handle a second time causes the vehicle to travel in reverse.
After forward travel, the vehicle will only travel in reverse when you push the throttle lever away from the
handle a second time. This is required by the brake function; in addition, it protects the drive mechanism
from overload due to an immediate switch from forwards to reverse.
If the vehicle does not stop when you release the throttle lever for forward/reverse travel (middle/neutral position),
set the trim for the drive function accordingly with the “TH-TRIM” knob (see g. 1, no. 2 or section 11.9).
If the vehicle tends to pull to the left or right while driving, even though the steering wheel is in the middle/neutral
position, set the steering trim accordingly with the “ST-TRIM” knob on the transmitter (see g. 1, no. 9 or sec-
tion 11.6).
The “AUX1” button (g. 1, no. 6) activates the disc brake (controlled by a servo). The disc brake is engaged as
long as you keep the button pressed.
Attention!
Short braking actions with the disc brake are usually sufcient. The speed controller also has a brake
function that is sufcient for most braking applications, depending on the track.
Leaving the disc brake engaged for too long can cause the vehicle to skid and become uncontrollable. The
tyres will eventually lock up, which can damage the tyre tread. Execute several short braking movements
in a row, if necessary.
We recommend that you try the disc brake out on a suitable at surface so that you can get the hang of it.
14.8 Stopping the vehicle
To stop the vehicle, proceed as follows:
Release the transmitter throttle lever for it to return to the neutral position and let the vehicle coast to a stop or use
the motor brake or disc brake.
When the vehicle is stationary, turn off the speed controller by pressing
the on/off switch (A) for approx. 1 second until the red LED on the switch
goes off.
Attention!
Never touch the wheels or the drive, and do not move the throttle
lever on the transmitter! Do not hold the vehicle by the wheels.
The engine, speed controller and drive rechargeable batteries be-
come very hot during operation! Do not touch these parts immedi-
ately after use – burn hazard!
Disconnect the two drive rechargeable batteries from the speed controller. Completely loosen the plug connec-
tions.
Then turn off the transmitter.
