6 Explanation of symbols
The text contains the following symbols:
The symbol with an exclamation mark in a triangle is used to highlight important information in these
operating instructions. Always read this information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special information and tips on how to use the product.
7 Required accessories
A number of accessories are required to use the vehicle. These accessories are not included with the product and
must be purchased separately.
The following accessories are required:
4x AA/Mignon batteries (or rechargeable batteries) for the transmitter (because of the lower voltage of recharge-
able batteries, we recommend using non-rechargeable batteries for reasons of service life and operational safety)
Two identical LiPo drive rechargeable batteries with 2 cells (rated voltage 7.4 V) or 3 cells (rated voltage 11.1 V);
each with XT90 connector
Suitable charger for transmitter or drive rechargeable batteries
For beginners, we recommend two 2-cell LiPo drive rechargeable batteries, because a lower voltage
means lower speed and thus allows much easier control of the vehicle.
However, if you already have sufcient experience with fast model vehicles, you can take advantage of the
full speed of the vehicle with two 3-cell LiPo drive rechargeable batteries.
Use only a high-quality charger with a balancer to charge the LiPo drive batteries.
Although the speed controller in the vehicle can be powered by NiMH rechargeable batteries (8 – 18 cells),
they are usually unable to deliver the required high currents. Therefore, use only LiPo rechargeable batter-
ies.
For optimal use of the vehicle, we also recommend the following components:
Several additional suitable drive rechargeable batteries (for continuing to drive after a short break to cool down
the engine and speed controller)
Replacement batteries/rechargeable batteries for the transmitter (if the batteries/rechargeable batteries in the
transmitter run out during vehicle operation)
Spare tyres (to quickly change worn/damaged tyres)
Assembly stand (for test runs and easier maintenance)
Other tools (e.g. screwdriver, needle-nosed pliers, hex key, wrench)
Compressed air spray (for cleaning)
Thread-locking uid (to x loose screw connections)
Carry bag
