8. Preparation for use
The "Vector 48" model boat is shipped ready for use. Only a few steps are required to set it up. The diagrams in this
manual are provided for reference purposes only. Individual components in the diagrams (e.g. the receiver with the
built-in speed controller) and the design of the model may vary.

a) Boat stand
The model boat comes with a plastic boat stand. We recommend that you use the stand when storing the boat and
when carrying out maintenance and repair work. The stand keeps the rudder and propeller off the ground to prevent
them from being damaged.
b) Inspecting the receiver and receiver antenna
To inspect the receiver (with the built-in controller), remove the hull shell. Turn the latch on the stern by 90°, lift the
shell off the back of the boat, and then remove the front part.

Modern 2.4 GHz remote control systems only require short antenna in the remote control and receiver. The few cen-
timetres of cable that protrude from the receiver function as the antenna.
Check the installation location of the receiver and receiving antenna. The receiver (inserted next to the motor) must be

control may be drastically reduced and you may not be able to control the boat. Check that the receiving
antenna is positioned correctly before each use.
