13. Programming the Flight Controller
Theightcontrollerinstalledinthemodelisprogrammableandcorrectlypre-setexworksforthe"WildHawk"model.
Deviating from the pre-settings, the following functions can be programmed: Position "Motor off", motor brake, re-
chargeable battery type, undervoltage recognition in three steps, restore factory settings, motor timing, start-up be-
haviour, helicopter mode, motor rotating direction, cycle frequency and deactivation behaviour at undervoltage.
To get to the programming mode, switch on the transmitter, push the control lever for the motor control all the way to
thefrontandconnecttherechargeablebatterytotheightcontroller.Afterafewseconds,themotorwillemitdifferent
signalsounds,melodiesoracombinationofthemtoindicateaspecicfunctionandarerepeatedfourtimes.
After every fourth tone (melody, etc.), the electronics will switch to the next programme item. When all possible func-
tionshavebeensignalled,theightcontrollerwillstop.Inthiscase,youneedtodisconnecttherechargeablebattery
and start programming mode again as described above.
When you have reached the programme item you want to change, pull the control lever for the motor control all the
waytotheback.Changeoftheprogrammingisconrmedbyasoundsequence.Nowdisconnecttherechargeable
batteryfromtheightcontrolleragain.Afterre-connecting,theprogrammingjustperformedwillbeactive.
If you want to change another programme item, start programming mode as described above.
The programme items are described in the following sub-chapters 13. a) to k) in the order in which they occur in the
programmingmodeoftheightcontroller.
To simplify, these programming instructions place a number in brackets in the headlines for every possible
programmingitem.Theightcontrollerhastwenty-twodifferentmenuitems.Thus,youonlyneedtocount
the number of tones/melodies when programming.
a) Motor off (1)
Theightcontrollerautomaticallyrecognisesthecontrolsignalofthetransmitterformotorcontrol.If,forexample,the
controlleverforthemotorcontrolisnotinthe"Motoroff"positionwhentheightbatteryisconnected(leverisnot
pulled all the way back to the body), the current position of the control lever is recognised as an error.
Theightcontrolleremitsthreesignalsandinterruptsinitialisationoftheightcontroller.Onlywhenthecontrollever
ofthetransmitterisfullypulledbackwilltheelectronicsswitchtheightcontrollertooperatingmodeandrecognise
the control lever position (at the very rear) as motor off.
Whenthecontrolleverforthemotorcontrolispushedallthewaytothefront,theightcontrollerswitchestoprogram-
ming mode. A short signal sound sounds thrice in sequence (1). Pull the control lever for the motor control back all the
way to the rear position during this. The position "Motor off" is now programmed.
Therefore, observe that the control lever at the transmitter for the motor control is pulled back all the way
(towardsyou)whenconnectingtheightbattery.
