Getting Started
a) Inserting the batteries into the transmitter
• UsetheON/OFFswitchtoswitchthetransmitteroff.
• Undo the screw onthe lid of thebattery compartment using asuitable screwdriver and
removethelid.
• Insert 4 batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observe positive/+ and negative/-; see symbol in the battery compartment and on the
batteries).
• Closethebatterycompartmentagainbytightlyscrewingthebatterycompartmentlidshut.
Usingrechargeablebatteriesinthetransmitter reducesoperationtime.Also,the
modelhovercraft’srechargeablebatterycannotbesufcientlycharged usingthe
USBchargingcable.
b) Charging the hovercraft’s battery
Charging via the transmitter:
• Switchoffboththehovercraftandthetransmitter.
• Connect the circular input pin of the USB charging cable to the corresponding jack on
the underside of themodel. Next,connect theUSB pinon theUSB inputcable tothe
correspondingjackonthetransmitter.
• Startthechargingprocessbymovingtheslidingswitchtothe"CHARGE"position.During
charginganLEDlightsupontheUSBchargingcable.
• Once the hovercraft’sbattery is fully charged the LED onthe charging cable goes out.
SwitchthetransmitteroffanddisconnecttheUSBchargingcablefromthehovercraftand
thetransmitter.
Charging via USB hub, computer or USB power supply:
• Switchoffboththehovercraftandthetransmitter.
• ConnectthecircularinputpinoftheUSBchargingcabletothecorrespondingjackonthe
undersideofthehovercraft.Next,connecttheUSBpinontheUSBchargingcabletothe
USBinputofaUSBhub,acomputeroraUSBpowersupply;(noneoftheseareincluded
inthedelivery).
OnlyuseaUSBhubwithitsownpowersupplysinceotherwise,theenergysupply
mightnotbesufcient.USBportsoncomputersnormallyonlyprovidepowerwhen
thecomputerisswitchedon.Thecomputerdoesnotrecognisenewhardwarewhen
theUSBchargingcableisinserted.
• DuringcharginganLEDlightsupontheUSBchargingcable.
• Once the hovercraft’sbattery is fully charged the LED onthe charging cable goes out.
DisconnecttheUSBchargingcablefromthemodelandfromthehub,computerorUSB
supply.
c) Switching the hovercraft and transmitter on
• First,switchthehovercrafton(theswitchislocatedunderneath).Placethemodelonaat,
levelsurface(oor).
• Switchonthetransmitter(switchposition"ON").ThepowerLEDonthetransmitterwillash
slowly.
• Move the leftjoystick oncecompletely forward andthen back againto itsstart position
(releasethejoystick).ThepowerLEDwillnowashrapidlyandthenstayalightconstantly.
Thisindicatesthatadigitalconnectionhasbeenestablishedbetweenthetransmitterandthe
hovercraftandthehovercraftisreadytooperate.
ShouldthepowerLEDnotstayconstantlyalightorthehovercraftdoesnotreact,
repeattheabovesteps.
d) Steering the model hovercraft
• Usetheleftjoysticktosteerthehovercraftforwards(movethejoystickforwards).Ifthemodel
hovercraftstops,movethejoystickintoitsstartposition(towardsyou)thenreleaseit.
• Therightjoystickallowsyouchoosedirection,(tosteerleftmovethejoystickleft,tosteer
rightmoveittotheright).
Thelargepropellerinthehullistheretocreateanaircushionunderthehovercraft.
Changeofdirectionisachievedviadifferingrotationalspeedsofthesternpropeller.
Itisbesttooperatethehovercraftonasmoothsurface(e.g.,Parquetorlaminate
ooring).
e) Setting straight-running stability
Therotarydial(4)undertherightjoystickcanbeusedtosetthestraight-runningstabilityduring
operation.
Stop operating
Firstswitchoffthehovercraft,thenswitchoffthetransmitter.
Ifthehovercraftwillnotbeusedoveraprolongedperiod,chargetheLi-Ion-rechargeablebat-
teryinthehovercraftatleastevery3months,sothatitdoesnotdraincompletely.Thiswould
causepermanentdamagetotheLi-Ion-battery!Removealsothebatteriesfromthetransmitter,
sincewornoutbatteriescanleak,whichleadstodamagetothetransmitter.
Care and Cleaning
Priortocleaningtheproduct,switchtheproductoff.
Neveruseabrasivecleaningagents,rubbingalcoholorotherchemicalsolutions,sincethese
coulddamagethecasingorevenimpairoperation.
Useadry,lint-freeclothtocleantheproduct.Dustcanbeeasilyremovedwithasoft,clean
brush.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronicdevicesarerecyclableanddonotbelonginthehouseholdwaste.Dis-
poseofanunserviceableproductinaccordancewiththerelevantstatutoryregula-
tions.
Removeanyinsertedbatteriesfromthebatterycompartmentofthetransmitterand
disposeofthemseparatelyfromtheproduct.
b) Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
Astheenduser,youarerequired,bylaw,(BatteryOrdinance)toreturnallspentbatteries/
rechargeablebatteries;disposaloftheminthehouseholdwasteisprohibited.
Batteries/rechargeablebatteriescontainharmfulmaterialsandarelabelledwiththe
symbolshowntoindicatethatdisposalinthehouseholdwasteisforbidden.The
symbolsofthecriticalheavymetalsare:Cd=cadmium,Hg=mercury,Pb=lead
(themarkingcanbeseenonthebattery/rechargeablebattery,e.g.,underneaththe
refusebinsymbolshownontheleft).
Youcanreturnyourusedbatteries/rechargeablebatteriesfreeofchargeattheofcialcol-
lectionpointsofyourcommunity,inourstores,oratplaceswherebatteriesorrechargeable
batteriesaresold.
Thatwayyoufullyourstatutoryobligationsandcontributetotheprotectionoftheenviron-
ment.
