Installation:
Use the following procedure when planning a SunQuartz
heating installation for buildings having a floor area of up
to 500m

1 Make a scaled plan of the area to be heated, noting
possible mounting heights and positions
2 Determine the overall heating requirements

Automatic Controller:
This automatic controller, which senses movement by
passive infra-r
ed techniques, will automatically switch
on the Sunquar
tz whenever movement is detected
within its range. The heater will remain switched on for
a preset time after the last movement is detected and
then will switch off automatically
.
The unit is suitable for 220V/240V single phase
operation and will switch 500W-6000W of heaters.
Soft start circuitry is incorporated to reduce the inrush
current allowing cables and fusegear to be rated as for
r
esistive loads and extending lamp life. The unit is wall
mounted and its passive infra-r
ed sensor must face the
same directional plane as the heater. The P.I.R. range is
adjustable and a temperature hold off facility will inhibit
operation when ambient temperatur
es exceed a value
selected between 10° and 20°C.
Installation Sunquartz
• High temperature cable must be used
• Miniature circuit breakers (type 3) must be used
• The heaters must never be rotated to face a wall,
ceiling or floor
• Units may be installed from the ceiling but MUST be
mounted at an angle
• Maximum benefit is gained from receiving heat from
both sides
• Prior to installation check that no hazardous vapours
will be present in the immediate atmosphere
