Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 1 • Disconnect the negative battery terminal. • Remove the glove compartment (1). • Remove the glove compartment side trim (2). 3 • Remove the LHS dash side trim (3). 1 2 Step 2 • Release the two T20 torx screw (1) and remove glove compartment undertray (2). 2 1 1 Step 3 • Dislodge the LHS ‘B’ pillar trim (1).
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 4 • Dislodge the LHS front door sill trim (1). 1 Step 5 • Rotate bonnet release lever (1) to horizontal and use a small flathead screw driver to remove the locking clip. • Remove the bonnet release lever. • Dislodge and remove the LHS kick panel trim (2). 1 2 Step 6 • Using a guide wire, route the Electric Brake Harness (1) fused ring terminal from underneath the vehicle up towards the vehicle battery (2).
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 7 • Secure the Electric Brake Harness fused ring terminal (1) to the vehicle positive terminal (2) using the existing fastener. 1 2 Step 8 • Remove the vehicle grommet (1) located underneath the 1 passenger side footwell carpet. • Route the loose terminals of Electric Brake Harness (2) over the chassis near the LHS wheel liner and through the grommet hole into the vehicle cabin, and up to the LHS kick panel.
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 10 • Secure earth ring terminal (1) to vehicle’s earth point (2). 1 2 Step 11 • Using the table below, house the terminals (1) from the Electric 1 Brake Harness into the supplied 4-Way Connector (2) ensuring the terminals lock into the housing. • Snap off the secondary lock (3) from behind the 4-Way 2 3 Connector (2). 3 • Fit the secondary lock (3) to the underside of the 4-Way Connector (2) .
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 13 • 1 Secure the ECU bracket assembly (1) to the vehicle using the supplied M8 Nyloc Nuts, Washers & M8 Bolts (2). 2 1 Step 14 • Connect the 4-way connector (1) from the Electric Brake 3 Harness to the ECU (2). • Connect the supplied Cat 5 Cable (3) to the ECU (2) . 2 1 Step 15 • Route the CAT 5 cable behind the glove box (1) and centre console across to the driver side knee trim (2).
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 16 • Remove the knee trim (1) and use the supplied Template (2) to drill the hole for the switch fascia. 2 1 Step 17 • Fit the switch fascia (4) into the hole in the knee trim (1). • Plug the CAT 5 Cable (2) , into the remote head (3) and fit the 7 1 7 6 remote head to the switch fascia (4) from behind. • Secure the remote head to the switch fascia by fitting the nut (5) from the front. Torque the nut to 0.8 Nm.
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 19 • Remove the ‘BLUE’ wire (pin 5) (1) from the trailer wiring harness socket head (2). • Tape back and isolate. Pin No. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Function Left-hand turn signal Reversing signal Earth return Right-hand signal Service brakes Stop lamp signal Rear lamps, clearance and side marker lamps 1 4 7 • Insert new ‘BLUE’ wire with brass ferrule from the Electric Brake Harness into the same position in the trailer socket.
Suitable for: Amarok Utility Kit Part No: TPWKIT-010 Step 22 • Re-connect negative battery terminal. • Test the operation of the Electric Brake Controller using a test lamp (12W) to ensure correct operation. • Dispose of any parts not used from the fitment. Refit all removed parts and secure all fasteners to the service manual torque specifications. Please place the fitting instructions in the glove box after completing installation.
