Note: If your computer has more than one IP address, you will
need to ensure that the HotSync Manager is using the correct
address. To check this, right-click the HotSync Manager on your
PC, select Setup and the Network tab and then click TCP/IP
Settings; the IP address displayed here should be the same as
the IP address you have entered into the Primary PC Setup on
your Palm handheld.
Configuring a remote HotSync operation via a
mobile phone
You can perform a HotSync operation from your Palm Vx
handheld (with Red-M Blade attached) to a computer connected
to your company network, via a Bluetooth connection to your
mobile phone. This option will only be available if your company
network supports dial-up remote access.
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 12) and Red-M software installed (see page 11).
• a computer with Palm Vx Desktop software installed.
• a dial-up account on your company network.
• a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.
• the Bluetooth address and passkey of your mobile phone.
Sometimes these are printed on the battery label. You will
need these before you can make a Bluetooth connection.
