SelectDNSMethod:SelectthemethodbywhichDNSServerinformationshouldbeobtained.Therecommendedset‐
tingforthisfieldis“UsePeerDNS”.Choicesinclude:
UseUnitDefault:DonotobtainDNSinformationfromPPPoEServer.UsesettingsfromNetwork‐>DNSSettingsinstead.
UsePeerDNS:DNSinformationshouldbeobtainedfromthepeerhostonceconnected.
UseCustomDNS:DNSinformationisenteredmanuallyinthefieldswhichwillappearbelow.
UseDefaultRoute:SelectYestousethisinterfaceasthedefaultroute.
DialonDemand:SelectYestoenablethisfeature.TherecommendedsettingforthisfieldisNo.
• Clickonthe“Save”buttonforchangestobesave dwithoutactivatingtheinterface,the“Apply”buttonwillsave
yoursettings
andapplythemimmediately.Toreverttothepreviousdefaults,clickonthe“Revert”button.

TheFirewallmenuitemallowsyoutoconfigureeveryaspectofthefirewallontheRedLionrouter.
TheFirewallmenuisorganizedinfour(4)sub‐sections:GeneralSettings,ACLRules,Masquerade/NAT/DMZRules,Port
Allow/ForwardingRules.

TheGeneralSettingsmenuisusedtoconfigurecommonaccessservicestotheRedLionrouterandconfigurehowthe
interfacesareinterpreted.
