Status Tab
The“StandardSystemRoutingTable”displaysthecurrentroutesfortheRedLionrouterandthestaticroutesthathave
beenconfiguredfortherouter.
The“PolicyRoutingTable”displaysinformationonthepolicyrules,theroutetablesforeachindividualinterfaceandthe
generalroutesfortheRedLionrouter.
3.2.2.5 SocketStatuses
Socketsareend‐pointstocommunicationovertheInternet.MuchlikePBXphonesystems,wheretheIPaddressisthe
phonenumberandtheportistheextension.Everypaired(connected)sockethasasourceIP/portandadestinationIP/
port.
TherearethreetablesintheSocketStatusesdialogwindow:“TCP
Only”,“ConnTrack”and“SocketStatusesAll”
The“TCPOnly”tabledisplaysthesocketsthatareconnection‐oriented(Alsoknownas“streamsockets”).
“ConnTrack”isaconnectiontrackerthatdisplaysmorethoroughinformationaboutthecurrentsocketconnections.Con‐
nectiontrackingallowsthekerneltokeeptrackofalllogical
networkconnectionsorsessions,andtherebyrelateallofthe
packetswhichmaymakeupthatconnection.NATreliesonthisinformationtotranslateallrelatedpacketsinthesame
way,andIPTABLEScanusethisinformationtoactasastatefulfirewall.
The“SocketStatusesAll”tabledisplaysthesockets
thatareconsideredconnection‐orientedandconnectionless(also
knownas“datagramsockets”).
3.2.3 Diagnostics
TheDiagnosticsmenuissub‐sectionedintoCellularStatus,Ping,SocketTest,TracerouteandSystemInfosubmenus.These
areusefulintroubleshootingconnectivityoftheRedLionroutertotheInternetortheNetworktherouterisconnectedto.
