EnablePingAlive:SelectYEStoenablethePingAliveService.TherecommendedsettingforthisoptionisNO.Ping
AlivewillsendthespecifiednumberofpacketsinTestPacketstoSend,everyintervaldefinedinTestInterval.Should
thepingfailtothefirsthost,asecondhostmay
alsobedefined.HostFailTypewillcontrolhowmanyhostsmustfail
befor eafailureisdeclaredandFailureCommandScriptwillexecutethefailureactionspecifiedatthattime.Thiscan
beusedtoforceinterfacetraffic,ortoprobeconnectivitytoanendpoint.
TestInterval(inminutes)(Required):
Enterthetimeinterval(inminutes)towhichthepingpacketswouldbesent.The
recommendedsettingforthisoptionis50.
TestPacketstoSend(Required):Specifythenumberthetimepacketstosendouttotestconnectivity.Theminimum
is1andthemaximumis10.Therecommendedsetting
forthisfieldis5‐10.
AllowablePacketLoss(Required):Specifythenumberoflostpacketsthatareacceptablebeforethelinkisconsidered
unavailable.Note:ThevaluemustbelessthatthenumberoftestpacketssetviaTestPacketstoSend.Example:IfTest
PacketstoSendisset
to5andAllowablePacketLossissetto3,then2pingsofthe5sentoutmusthaverepliesfor
connectivitytobedeclaredsuccessful.Ifonly1pingreplyisreceived,thenafailuretothathostwillbede clared.
HostAddress(Required):EntertheIPAddressof
thedestinationhosttowhichthepingpacketwouldbesent.Def ault
settingis“127.0.0.1”.
HostAddress#2:EntertheIPAddressoftheseconddestinationhosttowhichthepingpacketwouldbesent.Thissec‐
ondhostistestedonlywhenthefirstonefails.Thereisnodefault
settingforthisoption.
HostFailType:Choose“AnyHost”toruntheactionwhenthefirstandlasthostfailthetest.Choose“LastHost”torun
theactionwhenthefirstandlosthostfailthetest.HostAddress#2isonlytestedifthefirsthostfails.
