Chapter 4: Installing Websense Enterprise or Web Security Suite
12. If you stopped your antivirus software, be sure to start it again.
13. Install the Sun Web Proxy Plug-in on the Sun Java System Web Proxy
Server machine. This will allow the Websense software—specifically, the
Websense Filtering Service—to communicate with the Web Proxy Server.
See Installing the Sun Web Proxy Plug-in on the Web Proxy Server
Machine, page 94 for instructions.
14. See Chapter 5: Initial Setup to perform post-installation tasks.
Installing the Sun Web Proxy Plug-in on the Web Proxy Server
Machine
If you installed the Websense Filtering Service on a machine separate from
the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server, you must install the Sun Web Proxy
Plug-in on the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server machine so that the
Websense Filtering Service and the Web Proxy Server can communicate. You
must install the Sun Web Proxy Plug-in after installing the Websense Filtering
Service.
The Sun Web Proxy Plug-in is supported only on Solaris.
To install the Sun Web Proxy Plug-in on the Sun Java System Web Proxy
Server machine:
1. Log on to the machine as the root user.
2. Close all applications and stop any antivirus software.
3. Create a setup directory for the installer files.
For example:
/root/Websense_setup
4. Obtain an installer package for either Websense Enterprise or Web
Security Suite:
Note
If you decide to change the location of a Websense
component, add functionality, or repair a component, run
the Websense installer again on the machine you want to
modify and select the appropriate option. The installer
detects the presence of Websense components and offers
you options for modifying your installation. For
instructions, see Modifying an Installation, page 162.
