The Websense Filtering Plug-in (Sun Web Proxy Plug-in) must be installed on
the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server machine.
After you install the main Websense Enterprise or Web Security Suite
components on the Solaris machine, you may wish to install additional
Websense components on other machines. You can install Websense Manager
separately on a Windows machine (see Websense Manager, page 105) or on a
Solaris or Linux machine (see Websense Manager, page 144). If your network
uses a Windows directory service, you can install DC Agent on a Windows
machine (see DC Agent, page 111) or on a Linux machine. If you need to
install Network Agent on a separate machine to provide it with the required
access to 2-way employee internet traffic, see Network Agent, page 107 for
Windows installation instructions, or Network Agent, page 146 for Solaris and
Linux installation instructions.
To install the Websense components listed above on the Sun Java System Web
Proxy Server machine:
1. Log on to the installation machine as the root user.
2. Close all applications and stop any antivirus software.
3. Create a setup directory for the installer files.
For example:
/root/Websense_setup
4. Obtain an installer package for either Websense Enterprise or Web
Security Suite:
 Web download: To download an installer package, go to
www.websense.com
, and then navigate to the Downloads page.
