Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 53
Chapter 3: Upgrading Websense Enterprise or Web Security Suite
Upgrading from Websense Enterprise to
Web Security Suite
Existing Websense Enterprise systems, version 6.1 and higher, can be
upgraded directly to Web Security Suite. You must run the Web Security Suite
installer on each machine where a Websense component is installed. The
installer detects all Websense components of version 6.1 or higher on that
machine and upgrades them accordingly.
Make sure to observe the following sequence when upgrading a Websense
Enterprise system to a Websense Web Security Suite system:
First, upgrade Websense Enterprise components to Web Security Suite
components. Use the same upgrade procedures described previously in
this chapter for upgrading an existing Web Security Suite installation to
v6.3.2.
Next, upgrade Websense Enterprise Reporting components to Web
Security Suite Reporting components. For instructions, see the Reporting
Installation Guide for Websense Enterprise and Web Security Suite.
If you are running a version of Websense Enterprise prior to v6.1, you must
perform an intermediate upgrade first to bring your Websense Enterprise
version level up to v6.1. For more information, see Versions Supported, page
34.
Initial Setup
If you are an existing Websense Enterprise customer who is upgrading to
Websense Web Security Suite, some additional post-installation configuration
is required.
You must configure Websense Security PG™ (also known as Websense
Security Filtering) and the Security Protocol Groups in your existing policies
in order to block access to these sites and protocols. For information, see the
Websense Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.
The rest of the initial setup steps are the same as for a new installation of Web
Security Suite. These steps are described in Chapter 5: Initial Setup.
