Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 211
Chapter 5: Initial Setup
2. Select Windows NT Directory / Active Directory (Mixed Mode).
(Make this selection even if you are not using Mixed Mode.)
3. Enter domain administrator credentials in the fields on the screen.
4. Click OK.
Configuring Firewalls or Routers
To prevent users from circumventing Websense filtering, your firewall or internet
router should be configured to allow outbound HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and Gopher
requests only from the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server. Contact your
router or firewall vendor for information about configuring access lists on the
router or firewall.
Integrating Web Proxy Server 4.0 with a Directory
Service
Additional configuration is required to integrate version 4.0 of the Sun Java
System Web Proxy Server with a directory service and use the users from this
directory service for Websense user- and group-based access control. This
configuration allows you to apply user-based Websense policies without
installing any of the Websense transparent identification agents.
To configure Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 to send the authenticated
user IDs it receives from a directory service to the Websense software, edit the
obj.conf file as follows:
1. Stop the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server associated with the
Websense filtering software.
Important
If internet connectivity of Websense software requires
authentication through a proxy server or firewall for HTTP
traffic, the proxy or firewall must be configured to accept
clear text or basic authentication to enable the Websense
Master Database download.
