Chapter 6: Installation Considerations 57
Response File Must Not Be Read-Only
On UNIX, you cannot use a response file for an unattended installation when the
response file is located on a read-only file system or if the response file has the
read-only attribute set. The file must be writable because certain values may be altered
during installation based on the configuration of the target system. For example, if the
directory pointed to by the $CASHCOMP environment variable already exists on the
target system, that current location is used instead of what is specified in the response
file.
