Chapter 15: User Authentication, SOAP Digital Signature and XML Encryption for Web Services (SOAP)
15-16
Settings for the XML Encryption
This section explains the settings for:
Encrypting SOAP Messages Using the XML Encryption
Decrypting SOAP Messages Using the XML Encryption
Encrypting SOAP Messages Using the XML Encryption
The following explains the procedure for encrypting SOAP messages using the XML encryption.
Implementing an Application that Performs Encryption Using the XML Encryption
An application that encrypts the SOAP message using the XML encryption is implemented by changing
the Web service information. There is no need to change the application programs.
When creating an application in Messaging method, settings for the encryption target can be simplified
by adding an ID attribute to the target element of encryption using the XML encryption.
To encrypt an attachment file using the XML encryption, the MIME header "Content-Id" must be added
to the Attachment data.
For information about the addition of ID attributes and how to specify the MIME header "Content-Id,"
refer to Implementing an Application that Attaches a SOAP Digital Signature
For information about the destination URL when using the XML encryption, refer to Chapter 9 Managing
Web Service Information in the SOAP Service User's Guide.
Preparing a Site Certificate
For encryption using the XML encryption, a site certificate of the remote site that decrypts encrypted
SOAP messages is needed. For information on how to manage acquired certificates, refer to Chapter
14 How to prepare PKI Environment for Web Services (SOAP).
Settings for Encryption Using the XML Encryption
The Web Service Information Edit Tool is used to make the settings for encryption using the XML
encryption.
The following shows the window that displays detailed information in a server system environment.
The following explanation uses the RPC application window as an example.
