• Appending a User Name and a Password to a SOAP Message
• User Authentication for SOAP Messages
Appending a User Name and a Password to a SOAP Message
This section explains how to append a user name and a password, which are used for user
authentication, to a SOAP message.
Implementing an Application to Append a User Name and a Password
Before a user name and a password can be appended to a SOAP message, they must be specified in
an application, as with basic authentication.
For information on how to specify a user name and a password in the messaging method, refer to
“Adding HTTP connection information on proxies, authentication, sessions, etc.” in the “Implementing
Applications in the Messaging Method” section of the SOAP Service User’s Guide.
For information on how to specify a user name and a password in the RPC method, refer to “Adding
HTTP connection information (stub method) on proxies, authentication, etc.” or “Adding HTTP
connection information (DII method) on proxies, authentication, etc.” in the “Implementing Applications in
the RPC Method” section of the SOAP Service User’s Guide.
Append a User Name and a Password
Use the Web Service Configuration Edit Tool in a client system environment to configure each SOAP
message with an appended user name and password.
To launch the Web Service Configuration Edit Tool, select [Start]-[Programs]-[Interstage]-[SOAP
Service]-[Web Service Configuration Edit Tool].
The Web Service Configuration Edit Tool, when launched, displays a window like the one shown in
Figure 15-1.
