Chapter 14
How to Prepare PKI Environment for Web
Services (SOAP)
To allow the Web service to use SSL encrypted communication, SOAP digital signature, and XML
encryption (security function), a key pair is required and a certificate management environment must be
configured. This chapter explains the procedure.
Two methods are available for configuring a certificate environment:
To configure and use a Web service security environment (Interstage certificate environment) on
the server system, refer to "Configuring a Certificate Environment on the Server System."
If the Web service security environment is already configured on the server system (old certificate
environment), or to configure and use a new Web service security environment on a client system
(client package certificate environment), refer to "Configuring an Old Certificate Environment or
Client Certificate Environment.
Refer to Configuring an Old Certificate Environment or Client Certificate Environment for details of:
How to execute SOAP service operation commands
The various SOAP service commands and SOAP client applications.
Note
To allow Web service server applications (on the server system) to perform SSL encrypted
communication, configure a Web server SSL environment.
Register the same CA certificate in every server and client system that communicate together using
the security function.
