Chapter 13: Security Functions for Web Services (SOAP)
13-4
Reliable Messaging Function and Non-repudiation
Function
The reliable messaging function guarantees that SOAP messages to be sent will be delivered reliably to
the transmission destination without duplication. By using the non-repudiation (using the signature option)
function, as well, it becomes possible to exchange SOAP messages while guaranteeing reliability of both
sides.
The non-repudiation function can verify later on that SOAP messages have been exchanged because
SOAP messages including the transmitted SOAP digital signatures of the sender and receiver are stored
automatically.
