dsktune Utility
For UNIX platforms, Directory Server provi des a utility named dsktune that can
help y ou verify whether you have the appropriate patches installed on your
system. The utility also provides useful information and advice on how to tune
your kernel parameters for best performance. After y ou ’ve installed Directory
Server, you can find the uti lity i n the
/usr/netscape/servers/bin/slapd/server directory.
For information on running
dsktune, see Chapter 8, “Troubleshooting.”
Solaris 8 Operating System
If y ou run Directory Server on a Solaris operating system, you mu st ensure that t he
recommended patch cluster is installed. Solaris patches are identified by t wo
numbers, for example 106125-10. The first number (106125) identifies the patch
itself. The second number identifies the version o f the patch, in the example above
the patch is version number 10. We recommend installing the latest version of the
patch in order to benefit from the latest fixes.
See the Solaris Operating Environment Security S un Blueprint at
http://www.sun.com/blueprints/0100/security.pdf for advice on guarding
against potential security threats.
