C) Site Selection/Preparation
1. DO NOT PLACE IN LOW LYING AREAS. DO NOT PLACE
FIXTURES IN AREAS WHERE WATER POOLS OR FLOODS
OCCUR. DO NOT PLACE FIXTURES DIRECTLY IN
WALKWAYS WHERE THEY MAY CAUSE TRIPPING.
2. Determine where to locate the fixture(s). Sketch a layout of the
installation area. Measure distances from power source to
fixture and distances from each fixture to the next, if applicable.
To determine total amount of cable required, add the total
distances between power source and fixtures, and add an
additional 3 feet of cable for hookup at each fixture.
E) Fixture Installation - Turn Off Power
1. Dig a trench from the power source to the fixture location(s)
and lay out the cable. Check local codes for correct depth of
trench.
2. Feed cable through vertical mounting tube. Leave 6” of cable
exposed at the top of the mounting tube to allow connection to
the fixture wires. If this fixture is part of a series of fixtures
being installed, feed a second cable to connect to the next
fixture up into the mounting tube (see Figure 4).
3. Position the mounting tube vertically and pack dirt securely
around it. Leave approximately 1” of tube exposed above
ground level.
4. Strip 1/2” of insulation from each wire. Connect the cable wires
and fixture wires together with wire connectors (see Figure 5
for correct wiring).
5. Stuff the wires into the mounting tube cap. Position the wire
connectors so the wires are at the bottom (see Figure 6). Place
fixture over mounting tube and secure to mounting tube by
tightening the 2 cap screws. Be sure the wires are not pinched
when positioning mounting tube cap onto mounting tube.
6. Connect the cable to the power source.
7. Turn power on and test installation. If the fixture does not work,
check the bulb in another fixture. If the bulb works, turn off
power and return to Step 1 of Fixture Installation.
8. Fill in cable trench.
D) Fixture Preparation
1. Install the self-tapping
green ground screw into
the hole marked GRD in
the mounting tube cap as
shown in the illustration.
Install the grounding
pigtail under the screw
(see Figure 1). Tighten
the screw.
2. Feed fixture wires
through mounting tube
cap. Line up holes in
mounting tube cap with
holes in tubing and start
2 cap screws, but do not
tighten (See Figure 2).
3. Install an A15 40W/120V
appliance bulb into the
socket. Do not exceed
recommended bulb size
or wattage.
4. Loosen the 2 screws.
Align the 2 slots in the
lens with the 2 ribs in the
fixture base and install
the lens and fixture top
(See Figure 3). Tighten
the 2 screws to secure
the lens.

Thomas & Betts Corporation sells this product with the understanding that the user will perform all necessary tests to determine the suitability of this product for the user's intended application, and warrants to the original purchaser
that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the useful life of the product or for two (2) years from the date of purchase. Subject to the limitations set forth below, Thomas & Betts Corporation will repair
or replace, at its sole option, any product that proves to be defective under normal installation, use and service. Thomas & Betts Corporation reserves the right to replace any warranted product with a substitute product of similar
function if the warranted product is no longer available. Installation, operation or use of the product for which this warranty is issued shall constitute acceptance of the terms hereof.
This warranty is void if the product has been subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, fire, flood, physical damage, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or use in violation of our instructions or any applicable laws, codes or
ordinances.
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED

C) Selección y preparación del lugar de
instalación
1. NO INSTALE LA LÁMPARA EN LUGARES BAJOS DONDE SE ACUMULA
AGUA O SE PRODUCEN INUNDACIONES. NO COLOQUE LÁMPARAS
DIRECTAMENTE EN CAMINOS, YA QUE PUEDEN PROVOCAR CAÍDAS.
2. Determine dónde desea instalar las lámparas. Dibuje un diagrama del área en
la que se instalarán las lámparas. Mida las distancias desde la fuente de
electricidad hasta las lámparas y las distancias entre lámparas, si corresponde.
Para determinar la longitud total de cable necesario, sume las distancias entre
la fuente de electricidad y las lámparas y agregue 91,5 cm (3 pies) por lámpara
para conectarlas.
E) Instalación de la lámpara - Desconecte la
electricidad
1. Cave una zanja desde la fuente de electricidad hasta los lugares en donde se
encuentran las lámparas y coloque el cable en la misma. Consulte los códigos
locales para instalaciones eléctricas, para averiguar la profundidad adecuada
de la zanja.
2. Pase los cables a través del tubo de montaje vertical. Los cables deben
sobresalir 15,2 cm (6 pulgadas) de la parte superior del tubo de montaje para
conectarlos con los cables de la lámpara. Si la lámpara se conectará con otras,
pase un cable adicional por el tubo de montaje para conectarlo con la lámpara
siguiente (vea la figura 4).
3. Coloque el tubo de montaje en vertical y apisone firmemente la tierra alrededor
del mismo. El tubo de montaje debe sobresalir aproximadamente 2,5 cm (una
pulgada) del suelo.
4. Pele 1,3 cm (media pulgada) de aislamiento de cada cable. Conecte los cables
de alimentación y los de la lámpara mediante conectores de cable.
(Vea la figura 5 que muestra el cableado correcto.)
5. Introduzca los cables en la tapa del tubo de montaje. Ubique los conectores
para cables de manera que los cables estén abajo (vea la figura 6). Coloque la
lámpara sobre el tubo de montaje y fíjela al tubo apretando los dos tornillos de
cabeza. Asegúrese de que los cables no esten pinchados al coloquar la cubierta
del tubo de montaje sobre el tubo de montaje.
6. Conecte el cable a la fuente de electricidad.
7. Conecte la electricidad y pruebe la instalación. Si el artefacto no funciona, verifique
la bombilla en otro artefacto. Si la bombilla funciona, desconecte la alimentación
eléctrica y regrese al paso 1 de Instalación del artefacto.
8. Cierre la zanja.
D) Preparación de la lámpara
1. Instale el tornillo verde
autorroscante de conexión a
tierra en el orificio de la cubierta
marcado GRD (tierra) como lo
muestra la ilustración. Instale el
cable flexible de conexión a
tierra debajo del tornillo (Ver
figura 1). Apriete el tornillo.
2. Pase los alambres del artefacto
a través de la tapa del tubo de
montaje. Alinee los agujeros de
la tapa del tubo de montaje con
los agujeros del tubo y enrosque
2 tornillos de la tapa, pero no
los apriete (Ver figura 2).
3. Instale una bombilla A15 de
40Vatios/120Voltios en el
portalámparas. No exceda
el tamaño o potencia en
vatios recomendado para
la bombilla.
4. Afloje los 2 tornillos. Alinee las
dos 2 ranuras de los lentes con
los 2 rebordes en la base del
artefacto e instale los lentes y la
parte superior del artefacto (Ver
figura 3). Apriete los 2 tornillos
para asegurar los lentes.
