SAFETY READ THIS MANUAL FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING YOUR POWER LIFT AND RECLINE CHAIR. Please keep the safety instructions for future reference. 1) WARNING: Always check under and around the chair before lowering from a raised position to make sure no children, household pets or objects are under the chair. Never allow children to operate or play on, under or around the chair.
Lift Chair 1 1) HAND CONTROL 4 3 2) EXTERNAL TRANSFORMER, POWER CORD: Connects to a standard electrical outlet to provide power to the lift chair, may be equipped with an LED which will show green to indicate power to the transformer. 3) LIFT MECHANISM (PINCH POINT): Responds to the hand control commands to position the chair in the sit and stand positions. See pinch point warning for more information. 2 4) LEG LEVELERS (4): Manually rotate up or down to stabilize the chair before use.
Assembly Your lift chair requires assembly before initial use. LIFT CHAIR SETUP 1. Align back brackets with mechanism posts. 2. Push firmly on the top of the back to lock into position. You must hear a snap from each side of the chair to ensure the back is locked in properly. 3. Attach the chair back to the hook-and-loop flaps on the bottom of the chair base. NOTE: Pull up on the chair back to ensure that it is locked in place. 4. Align the male and the female brackets; slide the wing down into place.
Operation LIFT CHAIR PLACEMENT Your lift chair should be placed near a standard electrical outlet on dry, level ground where there is ample room to allow for proper operation. We recommend that you have assistance when positioning the lift chair to avoid the possibility of injury when lifting. Follow these steps to position the lift chair in a safe manner: 1. Place the back of the lift chair 30 inches (76 cm) from the nearest obstruction while the chair is in the seated position.
Operation INSTALLATION OF BACK-UP BATTERIES (Batteries not included) (2) 9 Volt back-up batteries will operate the chair from the reclined position to the seating position. The batteries will operate one cycle in case of a power failure. If a power failure occurs and the chair is cycled, the (2) 9 Volt batteries will need to be replaced after they are used once.
