CONNECT THE TRANSMITTER Transmitter Power Input Jack (L) Connect the transmitter as follows: Step 1 Power the Transmitter OUTPUT LEVEL 1. Insert the power cord from Transmitter AC Adapter (M) into the Transmitter Power Input Jack (L). 2. Plug the Transmitter AC Adapter (M) into any standard wall outlet.
Note: If you select Option 1 or Option 2 to connect the transmitter, the audio level will be fixed or variable, depending on your equipment. If you select Option 3, the audio level will be variable. POWER THE SPEAKER Select from the following options to power the AW810 speaker: OPEN POWER OPTION 1 – “C” CELL BATTERIES 1. Turn the speaker Power ON-OFF/ Volume Control Knob (C) to the “OFF” position (all the way counterclockwise – it will “click” off). 2. Remove the Battery Compartment Cover (E). 3.
ADJUST THE TRANSMITTER Adjust the transmitter as follows. Step 1 Turn ON your Audio Source (i.e. Stereo Receiver, TV, etc.) so that you can hear sound coming from the source. Step 2 Pivot the Antenna (L) to the upright, vertical position. Step 3 Set the Transmitter “Level” 1. Set the Frequency Control Wheel (J) to its midpoint. 2. Turn the Output Level Control Wheel (G) all the way to the left (your left when looking at the transmitter controls), as shown. 3.
TUNE THE SPEAKER Adjust the speaker as follows: Turn On and Tune the Speaker 1. Use the speaker Power ON-OFF/Volume Control Knob (C) to turn the speaker “ON.” Tuning Indicator Light (A) will illuminate red. 2. Turn the Tuning Control Knob (B) until the Tuning Indicator Light changes color to green, indicating the speaker is tuned to the signal from the transmitter. With the volume up, you should now be able to hear the audio source. 3. Adjust Volume (C) as desired.
‘TAPE RECORD.’ Jacks designated for phono, CD, LD, DVD or tape playback (PB) are inputs and will not work for purposes of installing the transmitter. Fixed-level outputs from TVs are usually marked as ‘Constant,’ ‘Fixed,’ or ‘Select.’ If they are not marked as such, they are probably variable outputs (see “About Variable-Level Outputs,” on page 8). Outputs from VCRs are almost always fixed.

Trouble Checks and Adjustments No Sound/ Distortion/ Static • If using battery power, batteries may be low. Replace if necessary. • Check that the speaker Tuning Indicator Light is illuminated green. If not, adjust the Tuning Control Knob until the light changes from red to green. • Check that the antenna is in the upright position. • Check that the Transmitter Audio Level Indicator Light is flickering intermittently.
