Use the information in this section to achieve the best balance between performance and power efficiency.
Check the battery status and temperature
Check the battery status
The battery status icon
or is in the Windows notification area. You can click the icon to check the
battery status, view the current power plan, change the power mode, and access battery settings quickly.
Check the battery temperature
Open the Vantage app, and then follow the on-screen instructions to view battery details.
Charge the battery
When the battery power is low, charge your battery by connecting your computer to ac power.

Change the power settings
For ENERGY STAR
®
compliant computers, the following power plan takes effect when your computer has
been idle for a specified duration:
• Turn off the display: After 10 minutes
• Put the computer to sleep: After 30 minutes
To reset the power plan:
1. Right-click the battery status icon and select Power Options
.
2. Choose or customize a power plan of your preference.
To reset the power button function:
1. Right-click the battery status icon and select Power Options ᇆChange what the power buttons do
