10.Settherelativepositionofeachmonitorbydraggingitsicon.Youcansetthemonitorsinanyrelative
position,buttheiconsmusttoucheachother.
11.ClickOKtoapplythechanges.
Note:Tochangethecolorsettings,right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.Click
AdvancedSettings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.
•Problem:IfyouusetheExtenddesktopfunction,youcannotsetahigherresolutionorhigherrefresh
rateonthesecondarydisplay.
Solution:Changetheresolutionandthecolordepthtolowersettingsfortheprimarydisplay.Refer
tothesolutiontotheaboveproblem.
•Problem:Displayswitchingdoesnotwork.
Solution:IfyouusetheExtenddesktopfunction,disableit,andchangethedisplayoutputlocation.If
aDVDmovieoravideoclipisplaying,stoptheplayback,closetheprogram,andthenchangethe
displayoutputlocation.
•Problem:Thescreenpositionontheexternalmonitorisincorrectwhenthatmonitorissetforahigh
resolution.
Solution:Sometimes,whenyouuseahighresolutionsuchas1600x1200,theimageisshiftedtoleftor
rightonthescreen.Tocorrectthis,rstmakesurethatyourexternalmonitorsupportsthedisplaymode
(theresolutionandtherefreshrate)thatyouhaveset.Ifitdoesnot,setadisplaymodethatthemonitor
supports.Ifitdoessupportthedisplaymodeyouhaveset,gotothesetupmenuforthemonitoritself
andadjustthesettingsthere.Usuallytheexternalmonitorhasbuttonsforaccesstothesetupmenu.For
details,seethedocumentationthatcomeswiththemonitor.
Audioproblems
•Problem:WaveorMIDIsounddoesnotplaycorrectly.
Solution:Makesurethatthebuilt-inaudiodeviceisconguredcorrectly.
1.GotoControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.UnderDevicesandPrinters,clickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministrator
passwordorconrmation,typethepasswordorprovideconrmation.
4.Double-clickSound,videoandgamecontrollers.
5.MakesurethattheRealtekHDAudiodriverisenabledandconguredcorrectly.
•Problem:Recordingsmadeusingthemicrophoneinputarenotloudenough.
Solution:MakesurethattheMicrophoneBoostfunctionisturnedonandsetbydoingthefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickSound.
4.ClicktheRecordingtabintheSoundwindow.
5.SelectMicrophone,andclickthePropertiesbutton.
