–MakesurethatWakeonLANisenabledinThinkPadSetup.
–Ifitis,checkwithyourLANadministratorforthenecessarysettings.
•Problem:IfyourcomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,itcannotconnecttothenetworkat1000Mbps.
Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.
Solution:
–Tryanothercable.
–Makesurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.
–Makesurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).
AwirelessLANproblem
Problem:Youcannotconnecttothenetworkusingthebuilt-inwirelessnetworkcard.
Solution:
•IfyourcomputerisinstalledwithWindows7operatingsystem,ensurethat:
–YourwirelessLANdriveristhelatestversion.ChecktheWebsiteandconrmthatthedriverversion
supportedbytheAccessConnectionsprogramisthelatestdocumentedinthereadmele.
–Yourcomputeriswithinrangeofawirelessaccesspoint.
–Thewirelessradioisenabledbydouble-clickingtheAccessConnectionsicononthetaskbar.

Bluetoothproblems
•Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonebutcomesfromthelocal
speakereventhoughtheBluetoothheadset/headphoneisconnectedusingaHeadsetproleorAVprole.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Exittheprogramthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).
2.GotoControlPanelandclickHardwareandSound➙Sound➙Playback.
3.IfyouareusingaHeadsetprole,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefault
button.IfyouareusinganAVprole,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.
