•Problem:WhenIturnonthecomputer,nothingisdisplayedonthescreenandthecomputerdoesnot
beepwhilestartingup.
Note:Ifyouarenotsurewhetheryouheardanybeeps,turnoffthecomputerbypressingandholdingthe
powerbuttonforfoursecondsormore.Turnitonandlistenagain.
Solution:Makesurethat:
–Thebatteryisinstalledcorrectly.
–Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandthepowercordispluggedintoaworking
electricaloutlet.
–Thecomputeristurnedon.(Turnthepowerbuttononagainforconrmation.)
Ifapower-onpasswordisset:
–Pressanykeytodisplaythepromptforthepower-onpassword.Ifthebrightnesslevelofthescreen
islow,increaseitbypressingHome.
–TypethecorrectpasswordandpressEnter.
Iftheseitemsarecorrectlyset,andthescreenremainsblank,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:WhenIturnonthecomputer,onlyawhitecursorisdisplayedonablankscreen.
Solution:Ifyouhavemodiedapartitiononyourharddiskdrivebyusingpartitionsoftware,information
aboutthatpartition,orthemasterbootrecordmighthavebeendestroyed.
1.Turnoffthecomputer,andthenturnitonagain.
2.Ifyoustillseeonlythecursoronthescreen,dothefollowing:
–Ifyouhaveusedthepartitionsoftware,examinethepartitionontheharddiskdrivebyusingthe
software,andrecoverthepartitionifrequired.
–IfyoursystemisinstalledwiththeWindows7operatingsystem,useeithertheOneKeyRecovery
Proworkspaceortherecoverydiscstorestorethesystemtothefactorystate.
–IfyoursystemisinstalledwiththeWindows8operatingsystem,useeithertheRemoveeverything
andreinstallWindowsfunctionortherecoverydiscstorestorethesystemtothefactorystate.
Iftheproblempersists,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:Myscreengoesblankwhilethecomputerison.
Solution:Yourscreensaverorpowermanagementmighthavebeenenabled.Doeitherofthefollowing:
–TouchtheTrackPointpointingdeviceorthetouchpad,orpressakeytoexitthescreensaver.
–Pressthepowerbuttontoresumefromsleeporhibernation.
