Tobeincompliancewith NFPALifeSafetyCode101,endusersmustperforma30‐secondmonthlyfunctional
testanda90‐minuteannualtest.The30‐secondmonthlytestisdonebypressingtheDiagnosticTestButton
onthecontrolpanel.A30‐secondself‐diagnostictestisbuilt
intotheprogrammingofthisunit.After30‐
secondstheresultswillbedisplayedasindicatedinthetablebelow.Toconducttheannualtest,power
shouldbesecuredtothestairwellfixturesexternally(i.e.thecircuitbreaker).Attheendof90minutesthe
fixturesshouldstillbeproviding
adequateilluminationthroughtheintegratedbatteryback‐upsystemwithin
thisfixture(ifsoequipped).Thetestitselfandtheresultsshouldberecordedandthisrecord maintainedby
theenduser.ThetablebelowexplainswhattheDiagnosticLEDIndicator(DIAG)means:

controlpanelonthesideofthefixture.Theonetotheleft(whenlookingatthecontrolpanel)isthe
DiagnosticLEDIndicator.Theonetotherightis
theStatusLEDIndicator.TheseLEDsarebi‐colored,meaning
theycanbe2differentcolors,inthiscaseRED orGREEN.ThetablebelowexplainswhattheStatusLED
