Satellite Position Receiver Satellite Receiver Do not stack electronic components or other objects on top of the receiver. The slots on top of the receiver must be left uncovered to allow proper airflow to the unit. Blocking the airflow to the unit could impair performance or damage your receiver and other components. Using the Controlling VCR2oDVD Button a VCR The VCR's remote controls two compatible RCA, ProScan, or GE VCRs with the VCR1 and VCR2,DVD buttons. Most compatible VCRs automatically respond to VCR1 without being programmed. If you own two compatible VCRs, test them to see if VCR1 turns on both VCRs. If it does, then you may want to program this VCR to respond to the VCR2-DVD button on the remote.
Controlling a TV The VCR's remote is preprogrammed setup to control other manufacturer's Program the Remote to control the basic functions of a compatible RCA, ProScan, or GE TV. Controlling a Cable Box or Satellite Receiver The SAT.CABLE button on the VCR's remote is preprogrammed to control either a compatible RCA cable box or satellite receiver. If your cable box or receiver is another manufacturer's brand and has its own remote, you will probably be able to program the VCR's remote to control it. To program the VCR's remote, enter the code that corresponds to your brand. Program the Remote for a Cable Box or Satellite Receiver 1. Turn on .
Controlling an Auxiliary RCA Component The remote that came packed with your VCR is also capable of controlling one compatible RCA audio component, such as an AM/FM radio, CD player, tape players, phonograph, RCA DSS ® satellite receiver, or RCA DVD player. Using Go-To the Playback Features Search The g_to search feature allows you to locate a counter reading on the tape. 1. Insert the prerecorded tape and press STOP. 2. Using the DISPLAY Button 1° Playback Features Press DISPLAY to display the status of the VCR, channel number, station ID (if available), lime counter, title of program (if available), date, time, and tape speed on the TV screen. The time will appear in the display panel. The time and date must be set before they are displayed. If you do not press DISPLAY again, these displays will time out. 2. Press DISPLAY again to display information about the program that is playing (if available).
Using the Playback Program Information Features Some stations broadcast program h_formation along with the program. When this information is available, it will be displayed automatica.lly when you press the DISPLAY button. Press DISPLAY to display the status displays on the TV screen. The title of the program and station ID will appear if it is available. 1. If program information will appear.
Recording and Playback COMMERCIALP*ADVANCE TM is a patented technology that detects and marks most commercials on your tape for any recording that is more than 15 minutes long. During playback, the VCR automatically skips the detected commercial segments or you can choose to manually skip them. This feature reduces three minutes of commercials into approximately 8-12 seconds of fast forwarding in the SLP speed. You can select a background of blue or see the video as the commercials are skipped.
