Closed Caption Display Displays a choice list that lets you choose the way closed
captioning information is shown on the screen.
OFF No captioning intkmnadon is displayed.
ON Captioning intk_rmadon is shown always, when available.
ON WllENMUTED Captioning information is shown, when available, whenever the
TV/VCR's sound is muted. CFo mute. the sound, press the MUTE button.) "II_e captioning
intk)rmation is not displayed when the sound is not muted.
Closed-Caption Mode Displays a choice list that lets you choose which captioning mode is
used for displaying captioning intk)rmation.
Caption 1 Displays the full translation of the primary language in your area.
Caption 2 May be used as a second source for secondary languages.
Text 1 and Text 2 Display on-screen boxes containing the text of general information not
necessarily related to the program being watched.

captioned text.
Menu Language Displays a choice list that lets you select your prel)rred language for the
menus: English, 5])anish or French.
Setting Closed-Caption Modes
The TV/VCR offers four closed-captioned modes, including two text modes.
To set the Closed-Caption Mod_
1. Select Screerz from the Main menu.
2. Press 2 to select the Mode. Each time you press 2 the Mode will change on the Closed
Captioning menu screen.
Time Menu
Set Time and Date Displays a control panel that lets you enter the current
time. The on-screen directions guide you through the steps needed to set the
time.
Sleep Timer Displays a control panel that lets you select the amount of time
you want to give the TV/VCR belk)re it shuts itself off
Wake-Up Timer Displays a control panel that lets you set a timer that turns
the "IW/VCR on automatically. You can set it to wake you up in the morning or
remind you that a favorite program is about to start. Enter the channel and time
using the number buttons then follow the instructions on-screen.
