INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the RadioShack 150-Watt 7-Piece Home Theater Audio System with 5-DVD/CD Changer. This system incorporates some of the best features in home theater technology. It comes with a shielded center-channel speaker, a low pass-type subwoofer, two shielded front-channel speakers, two surround speakers, an AM and FM antenna, remote control, and a receiver equipped with a tuner and a DVD player.

BACK PANEL AUDIO OUT (L/R) jacks — Use to connect to your TV. Y, PB/CB, PR/CR VIDEO OUT jacks — Connect to your TV using component video output or progressive output. VIDEO OUT jack — Use the supplied audio/video cable to connect to your TV. VIDEO IN (VCR) jack — Use a video cable to connect to a VCR. Color-Coded Speaker Terminals SUBWOOFER OUT jack — Use an RCA cable to connect to the subwoofer speaker. DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack — Use a coaxial cable to connect to external equipment.
REMOTE CONTROL OPEN/CLOSE Ï — Press to open or close the disc tray. STANDBY/ON º — Turns the unit on and off, and puts it in standby mode. RETURND— Press to return to normal operation after accessing the SETUP menu. FUNCTION — Press to view or change various settings. 5.1 / 2.1 CHANNELS — Press to select 5.1 channel mode, for output from rear speaker and subwoofer. Select 2.1 channel mode to change output to the front left/right speakers and subwoofer speaker.
PREPARATION You must connect a TV to the system in order to use the system’s DVD player. You can also connect other audio and audio/visual components to the system. PLACEMENT • Do note expose the unit to dripping or splashing. • Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid. • Place the unit on a flat and even surface. • Do not restrict the air flow of the unit by placing it in an area with poor air flow, by covering it with a cloth, or by placing it on carpeting.
CONNECTIONS CONNECTING YOUR TV 2. Connect the AUDIO OUT L/R jacks on your unit to your TV’s AUDIO IN jacks. The unit can be connected to your TV in several different ways, depending on the design of your TV. Always make sure the power is off and the power cord is disconnected from the wall outlet. Note: Do not connect S-Video, Component Video, and Video Output at the same time. Coaxial Antenna Jack CONNECTING A VCR Some TVs do not have RCA or S-Video jacks; they have a coaxial antenna jack.

Connect the Y VIDEO OUT jack on your unit to the Y VIDEO IN jack on your TV, the PB/CB VIDEO OUT jack on your unit to the PB/CB VIDEO IN jack on your TV, and the PR/CR VIDEO OUT jack on your unit to PR/CR VIDEO IN jack on your TV. Notes: • If the external equipment is a television and this audio system is close to it, you may experience interference. • When in tuner mode, sound is only heard from the front left speaker, right speakers, and subwoofer.
CONNECTING THE SPEAKERS Speaker Positioning The speaker cords have been color-coded to simplify connection. Insert a fixing screw(s) at the marked position on the wall. 3. Align the slot hole(s) of the speaker over the screw and pull the speaker downward until it is firmly hooked.
OPERATION DISC FORMATS The player is compatible with DVD, CD, CD-R CD-RW, MP3, and JPG discs. When ½ appears on the TV screen, this indicates that the function or operation is not available. This occurs because the DVD manufacturer determines the specific functions. Certain functions may not be available on some discs. Be sure to read the documentation provided with the disc. Notes: • This unit supports 2-channel (L/R) audio and 5.
3. Select the channel on your TV corresponding to the VIDEO IN jack that the unit is connected to. See TV User guide for more information. 4. If you have connected the unit successfully, your TV screen. ßappears on ADJUSTING THE SOUND To adjust the sound balance while Pro Logic decoding is in effect, use the remote control to make the following changes: Front speaker (left) — Press SOUND repeatedly until LEFT appears. Press d or e to adjust the sound level.
7. Press OPEN / CLOSE. The disc tray closes. It takes a short while for your unit to load the discs. After loading, the unit will automatically start playback of the disc. 8. Press PLAY K if playback does not start automatically. 9. Press DISC1/DISC2/DISC3/DISC4/DISC5 or DISC SKIP to select other discs to play. Slow-Motion Play (DVD) 1. Press ESLOW or SLOW F in play mode. Two speeds are available.
Audio Selection Audio Setting On some discs, the sound is recorded in two or more formats. Press AUDIO. The current audio type appears. Press AUDIO to select your desired type of audio. 1. While a disc is playing, press AUDIO to view the current audio format number. 2. Press AUDIO repeatedly to select the desired audio format. Notes: Subtitle Setting Press SUBTITLE. The current subtitle number and language appear. Press SUBTITLE to select your desired language.
Notes: • If you press CLEAR while entering a title or chapter number, the numbers are erased and you can enter them again. • Some discs may not respond to this process. • Some scenes may not be located as precisely as you specified. CD • This method for accessing specific locations is available only within the current title of the DVD disc. Track Programmed Playback Angle Setting (DVD) 1. Press DISPLAY twice. The Function menu appears and you can see how many angles are recorded on the disc. 2.
PLAYING MP3 AND PICTURE FILE CDS Playing an MP3 Disc Playing a Picture CD 1. Press OPEN /CLOSE to open the disc tray. 2. Insert a picture CD in the disc tray, label side up. 1. RATING Setting Password/Parental Lock DVD discs equipped with a password function are rated according to their content. The contents allowed by a parental lock level and the way a DVD disc can be controlled may vary from disc to disc.

CARE Keep the home theater system dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and store the home theater system only in normal temperature environments. Handle the home theater system carefully; do not drop it. Keep the home theater system away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Caution: You might permanently damage your speakers by cleaning them with a vacuum cleaner. Use a feather duster or a soft loose cloth instead.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem 22 Cause / Solution No Power. Check that the AC power cord is connected. No Picture. The disc region number doesn't match the region number of this unit. The TV is not set to receive DVD signal output. The video cable is not connected. The TV is not turned on. The Picture is not clear. Clean the disc. If video from your system has to go through your VCR to get to your TV, the copy-protection applied to some DVD programs could affect picture quality.
