Picture Menu
The TvScreen and Display options enable you to adjust the screen sizes and decide whether you want to see the on-screen
displays of the discs.
Setting the TvScreen Option
You can select the aspect ratio for your TV
1. Press SETUP•MENU on the remote to display the menu.
2. Press the right arrow to highlight Picture.
3. Press the down arrow or ENTER to select Picture and highlight the
TvScreen option.
4. Press the right arrow, and then up or down arrow to highlight the
desired TvScreen option.
4:3: Choose this option if you want to see movies in their
original aspect ratio (height-to-width ration). This option shows the
entire wide screen film frame on a 4 x 3 screen by proportionately
reducing the height of the wide screen image. Then its width fits the
screen and fills in the top and bottom spaces with black bars.

4:3 Pan Scan: Choose this option if you want the movie to fill
the entire screen of your TV/DVD. This shows only the most
important parts of the image and excludes the less important parts
(the left and right edges).
Note: Most discs produced in a widescreen format can’t be cropped in this
fashion. This means the black bars appear at the top and the bottom of
the screen.
16:9 Wide Screen: Select this mode when connecting to a
wide-screen TV. A wide screen picture is displayed full size.
5. Press ENTER to select the option.
6. Press SETUP•MENU or RETURN to exit menu.
