Chapter 3 29
Using the TV’s Menu System and Features
Audio Menu
The audio settings (BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE) are preset at the factory but you
can adjust them individually if you want.
BASS Adjusts the low frequency audio.
TREBLE Adjusts the high frequency audio.
BALANCE Adjusts the left and right balance of sound from the speakers.
When adjusting the balance, sit in your normal viewing seat.
Pressing CANCEL while making sound adjustments returns all adjustments to
the factory preset levels.
Channel Menu
You can change the TV/DVD signal, add/delete channels from the channel list
and auto program the TV/DVD to include only those channels that are
receiving a signal. The TV/DVD is shipped from the factory in the CATV mode.
TV/CATV Informs the TV which antenna system (cable-TV or off-air) is being
used to receive the signal.
ADD/DELETE Allows you to add or delete channels from the channel list.
You can still access a channel by direct entry.
AUTO CH MEMORY Enables the TV to search for all channels that are
viewable through your cable TV connection or off-air antenna, whichever is
connected.
Setup Menu
The setup menu enables you to set up the V-Chip feature and the language for
the TV’s menu system.
V-CHIP SET Feature
The V-CHIP SET menu allows you to program your TV so that children cannot
see certain programs. To use V-CHIP SET, you must enter a password which is
explained later in this section.
By default, this feature is turned “off.” If you don’t want to use this feature, you
can just ignore it.
