11. STARTING THE MEASUREMENT
Do not connect the motor while measuring.
Measuring the main rotor blade
> Observe the rotation direction of the rotor when measuring the angle.
> The pitch gauge is designed for clockwise rotor rotation. For clockwise rotor rotation,
it shows a positive reading when the main rotor blade is at a positive rigging angle
and a negative reading when the main rotor blade is at a negative rigging angle. For
counter-clockwise rotor rotation, please invert the sign of the reading.
1. Rotate the main rotor blades so they are parallel to the body and the tail. Both main rotor blades must
be aligned at exactly 180º towards each other.
2. Place the pitch gauge on the mount adaptor for the main rotor blade. The position of the pitch gauge will
be xed by the magnets on the pitch gauge and the mounting plate.
3. Pull the mount adaptor for the main rotor blade far enough apart so that you can place the main rotor
blade into the adaptor. The adaptor must be placed close to the helicopter body (around 1/3 of the rotor
length) to obtain an accurate measurement.
4. Now read the pitch reading, or use a pre-set prole (mode 1).
5. Adjust the main rotor blade to obtain your desired angle.
