8. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially
observe the safety information. If you do not follow the
safety instructions and information on proper handling
in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will
invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
8.1 Persons/Product
> Thedeviceisnotatoy.Keepitoutofthereachofchildrenandpets.
> Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerousplayingmaterialforchildren.
> Ifit is nolongerpossibleto operatetheproductsafely, take itoutofoperation and
protectitfromanyaccidentaluse.Safeoperationcannolongerbeguaranteedifthe
product:
» isvisiblydamaged,
» isnolongerworkingproperly,
» hasbeenstoredforextendedperiodsinpoorambientconditions,or
» hasbeensubjectedtoanyserioustransport-relatedstresses.Theproductmust
not become damp or wet. The »Xtreme uses delicate electronic components
whicharesensitivetotemperatureuctuationsandareoptimisedforaparticular
temperature range. Operating temperatures below 0°C must be avoided.
> Donotplacetheproductunderanymechanicalstress.
> Handletheproductcarefully.Jolts,impactsorafallevenfromalowheightcandamage
the product.
8.2 Before commissioning
> Beforeevery ight checkthefunctionalreliability ofyourmodelandthe transmitter.
Watchoutfor any visible damagesuch as defective plug connectionsor damaged
cables and wires.
> Allmovingpartsofthemodelmustrunsmoothlybutshouldnothaveanyplayintheir
bearings.
> Before each operation check the correct and secure position of the propellers.
> Chargetheightbatteryaccordingtothestepsprovidedinchapter“15.Battery”on
page 19.
> Ensure sufcient residual capacity [ battery tester (not included) ] of the batteries
insertedinthetransmitter.Ifthebatteriesareempty,alwaysreplacethecompleteset,
neverindividualcellsonly.
> Alwaysswitchonthetransmitterrstbeforeconnectingthebatterytothe»Xtreme.
> Setthethrottletozerobeforeconnectingthebatterytothe»Xtreme.Therotorsmight
rununintentionally!
8.3 During Operation
> Whentherotorsarerunning,makesurethatneitherobjectsnorbodypartsareinthe
rotating and suction area of the propellers.
> Donottakeany risks when operating the model!Yourownsafetyandthatofyour
environmentissolelydowntoyoubeingresponsiblewhendealingwiththemodel.
> Improperoperationmaycauseseriousinjuryandpropertydamage!Thereforemake
suretokeepasufcientlysafedistancetopersons,animalsorobjectsduringoperation.
> Select an appropriate location for the operation of the »Xtreme.
> Flythe»Xtremeonlyifyourabilitytorespondisunrestricted.Theinuenceoftiredness,
alcohol or medication can cause incorrect responses.
