30.1 Overview

30.2 Basic mode
> The basic mode is designed specicallyfor users who are new to ying multirotor
systemsandthosewholookforintuitivecontrolsforaerialphotography.
> Thecontrolsrespondlessaggressively.Thisbehaviourisintentional,allowingpilotsto
getarstfeelingofhowthe»NovaX350respondstoleverinput.
> AUTO-LEVELLING is enabled. It means that if the pilot lets go of the aileron and
elevatorcontrolstick,the»NovaX350regainsarelativehorizontallevelposition.Small
driftsinanydirectionarenormal,especiallyduringnotfullycalmconditions.
> WerecommendthismodewhenyouintendtouseacameraorFPVequipment.Motor
power is restricted for smoother operation and less aggressive behaviour, which is
benecialtoscenerycapture.
30.3 Altitude mode
Thealtitudemode(mid-stickmode)holdsthe»NovaX350atadesiredaltitude.Usethe
mode as following:
1. Activate the Basic mode.
2. Liftthe »NovaX350 upto thedesiredaltitude.Movethe throttletowards itscentre
position.
3. ActivatetheAltitudemodeonyourtransmitter.
4. The»NovaX350nowhoversatandholdsthesetaltitudewithoutfurtheradjustments.
It is
possible to use rudder, aileron and elevator.
5. Set a new altitude via throttle input. Move the throttle stick back to the centre position
to hold the new altitude.
6. ChangeightmodestodeactivatetheAltitudemode.
30.4 GPS mode
In the GPS mode the »NovaX350holdsasetposition(x,y,andz-axis).Asopposedto
theAltitudemodethereisnoneedforyoutocontrolthex-andy-axis.TheGPS function
controlsandmakesadjustmentstoallthreeaxes.
Use the mode as following:
1. Activate the BASIC mode.
2. Liftthe»NovaX350uptothedesiredaltitudeandpositionit.Movethethrottletowards
its centre position.
3. Activate the GPSmodeonyourtransmitter.
4. The»NovaX350nowholdstheposition(andaltitude).
5. Correct the position as desired.
6. ChangeightmodestodeactivatetheGPSmode.
TheGPSsignalstrengthisindicatedbythefrontandrearLED.DependingontheGPS
signalstrengththesolidLEDisinterruptedbydistinctblinkpatterns,whicharesummarized
in [ Fig. 16 ].
