Compasscalibration should bedoneat open outdoorarea.Thecalibrationprocess
mayfailduetomagneticinterferencefromsurroundingenvironment.
Failingofcompasscalibrationisindicatedby3prominentbeepsounds(3beeps).Incase
offailure:
1. Moveawayfrommagneticinterferences.
2. Disconnecttheightbatteryandre-connectit.
3. Restart the procedure.

17. Flying the Navigator 250

Beforeyouinstallthebattery,turnonthetransmitter.Anunboundaircraftisconsidered
uncontrolled.
17.1 Visual inspection
■
Inspect the Navigator 250 for damage before every ight. Replace damaged
componentsbeforeyingagain.Onlyuseoriginalspareparts.
■
Ensurethemotorarmsarefullyunfoldedinyingpositionandthelockingscrew/nuts
arecompletelytightened.
■
EnsurethepropellerscanfreelyrotatewithouthittinganypartsoftheNavigator250body.
■
Observe the condition of each motor:

■
Alwaysreplacedefectivepartsimmediately.
■
Ifyouareunsureaboutyourproduct’sconditionconsultanexperiencedRCpilotor

istforight.

Startwithsimpleightmanoeuversandgraduallyproceedtomorechallengingones.
1. PlacetheNavigator250onevenground,waitandobservetheGPSsignalreceptionlevel.
When taking off without GPS signal, the Navigator 250
will land at the location where R.T.H. is triggered.
2. Turn on the motors.
3. Checkproperfunctioningof
aileron
,
elevator
,
throttle
and
rudder
.
4. IncreasethrottleuntiltheNavigator250isatleast50cmabovetheground.

Atthisheight,youhavepassedtheso-calledgroundeffectandtheNavigator250
ismorestableinitsightposition,thuscanbecontrolledmoreeasily.
▬
Becareful when applying
rudder
,which will rotate the Navigator 250 around
itsverticalcentreaxis,causingyoutobecomedisoriented.Studycarefullyhow
aileron
and
elevator
behaveafterapplyingrudder.
5. You have now managed the critical part and can familiarize yourself with the
Navigator250bygentlethrottlemotions.
6. Toland,decreasethethrottleslightlyuntilitgravitatestotheground.

Asomewhatsolidtouchdownisnoproblemandshouldnotbecorrectedwith
jerkythrottlemovements.
▬
Attempttotouchdownvertically(“helicopterlanding”).Avoidlandingwithhigh
horizontalspeeds(“airplanelanding”)topreventthelegsfromgettingentangled,
resultingintheNavigator250tumbling.
7. Afterlanding,turnoffthemotors.
8. Disconnectthebattery.
