12.2 Before commissioning

Beforeeveryight,checkthefunctionalreliabilityofyourmodelandthetransmitter.
Watchout for any visible damage such as defective plug connections or damaged
cablesandwires.

Allmovingpartsofthemodelmustrunsmoothlybutshouldnothaveanyplayintheir
bearings.
■
Beforeeachoperationcheckthecorrectandsecurepositionofthepropellers.
■
Chargetheightbattery.
■
Ensure sufcient residual capacity [ battery tester (not included) ] of the batteries
insertedinthetransmitter.Ifthebatteriesareempty,alwaysreplacethecompleteset,
neverindividualcellsonly.
■
AlwaysswitchonthetransmitterrstbeforeconnectingthebatterytotheNavigator250.
■
SetthethrottletozerobeforeconnectingthebatterytotheNavigator250.Themotors
mightrununintentionally!
12.3 During operation
■
Whenthemotorsarerunning,makesurethatneitherobjectsnorbodypartsareinthe
rotatingandsuctionareaofthepropellers.
■
Donottakeany risks when operating the model!Your own safety and that of your
environmentissolelydowntoyoubeingresponsiblewhendealingwiththemodel.
■
Improperoperationmaycauseseriousinjuryandpropertydamage!Thereforemake
suretokeepasufcientlysafedistancetopersons,animalsorobjectsduringoperation.
■
SelectanappropriatelocationfortheoperationoftheNavigator250.
■
FlytheNavigator250onlyifyourabilitytorespondisunrestricted.Theinuenceof
tiredness,alcoholormedicationcancauseincorrectresponses.
■
Donotdirectyourmodeltowardsspectatorsoryourself.
■
Motor,electronicsandightbatterymayheatupduringoperation.Wait5to10minutes
beforerechargingorreplacingtheightbattery.
■
Neverswitchoff thetransmitterwhilethe Navigator 250 isinuse.After landing, always
disconnecttheightbatteryrst.Onlythenmaythetransmitterbeswitchedoff.
■
Incaseofadefectoramalfunction,removetheproblembeforeusingtheNavigator250
again.
■
NeverexposetheNavigator250orthetransmittertodirectsunlightorexcessiveheat
for an extended period of time.
■
Inthecaseofaseverecrash(e.g.fromahighaltitude)theelectricgyrosensorscanbe
damagedand/ormisadjusted.Therefore,fullfunctionalitymustbetestedbeforeying
againwithoutfail!
■
In the event of a crash, the throttle should be immediately set to zero. Rotating
propellers may be damaged if they come into contact with obstacles. Before ying
again,theseshouldbecheckedforpossibletearsorbreakages!
■
Observe the warn/safety signals emitted by the Navigator 250atall times to avoid
damage(e.g.dischargedbattery).
12.4 Outdoor flying locations
■
AlwaysandonlyoperatetheNavigator250inadesignatedRCyingarea.
■
Stay away from power lines, cellphone towers and other sources of potential
interference, and restricted areas.
■
NeverytheNavigator250abovepeople.
■
ContactalocalRCclubnearbytondoutmoreaboutdesignatedandapprovedying
areas.
12.5 Batteries
12.5.1 General information
■
Correctpolaritymustbeobservedwhileinsertingbatteries.
■
RemovetheightbatteryfromtheNavigator250aftereveryight.
■
Removethebatteriesfromthetransmitterifyoudonotuseitforalongerperiodoftime.
Dischargedbatteriesmayleak.
