In the event of a collision, protection from injury is provided by specially designed deformation zones at the front and rear, active headrests for the driver and front passenger, and six airbags. After all, if an automobile delivers that much excitement, it should also have something to calm you down again.

This system allows you to unlock, lock and start your BMW without inserting the key. All you need is the remote control, which transmits an identifi cation signal to the car, in your pocket. Simply touch the door handle or boot lid and the BMW unlocks or locks as required. Similarly, a touch of the Start/Stop button is all it takes to start the engine.
Safety TO US, SAFETY MEANS BEING PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED. Traffi c is unpredictable. But there is a way to prepare for the unforeseen: effective safety systems. In the BMW Series Touring, the occupants are surrounded by a very stiff, high-strength occupant cell made from multiphase steels. Specially designed crumple zones at the front and rear absorb kinetic energy in a collision. In the event of an impact, the pedals are immediately retracted in order to protect the driver’s legs.
