Therelayiscontrolledbythetemperatureselectedonthedisplay.Ifanyfailsafecodeappearsonthe
display, the relay changesto the “abnormal” state. The exception is the “dirtywindow” condition.
This causes the relay to change state, leaving a normal numerical temperature output. The dirty
windowisdetected
ineither1coloror2colormode.

the unit outputs EIHH onthe LED’s and digital output and 21 mA on the
analog output. However, since 2color wide band and narrow band temperatures may all be
presentedsimultaneouslythroughRS485,theiroverandunderrangeconditionsareindependent.
Examplesoffailsafeconditions:
1. Onecolor temperature
is selected for display on the LED’s. Twocolor temperature is
transmittedinburstmode.Widebandtemperatureisunder range.Twocolortemperatureis
999°C.
Outputs:
Display: EUUU
RS485: CT0999
Analog: 2to3mA
Relay: abnormalstate
2. Twocolor temperature is selected for display
on LED’s. All three temperatures are
transmitted in burst mode. Twocolor temperature is 1021°C. Wide band temperature is
703°C. Narrow band temperature is 685°C. Attenuation is above 95%, the “dirty window”
threshold.
