8.1Routinechecks
Thefollowingperiodicchecksshouldbemade:
•Examinecablesforsignsofdamage,suchaschang,cutsor
nicks.
•Checkthatthecableconnectorsarermlyattachedandthat
theirlockingmechanismsareproperlyengaged.
Note:Cablechecksshouldbecarriedoutwiththepower
supplyswitchedoff.
Warning:Highvoltage
Thisproductcontainshighvoltage.Adjustments
requirespecializedserviceproceduresandtools
onlyavailabletoqualiedservicetechnicians.
Therearenouserserviceablepartsoradjustments.
Theoperatorshouldneverremovethecoveror
attempttoservicetheproduct.
8.2Unitcleaninginstructions
Theunitdoesnotrequireregularcleaning.However,ifyound
itnecessarytocleantheunit,pleasefollowthestepsbelow:
1.Ensurepowerisswitchedoff.
2.Wipeunitcleanwithadampcloth.
3.Ifnecessary,useamilddetergentsolutiontoremovegrease
marks.
Transducercareandcleaning
Growthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,thiscan
reduceperformance.T opreventthebuild-upofseagrowth,coat
thetransducerwithathinlayerofwater-basedantifoulingpaint,
availablefromyourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6
monthsoratthebeginningofeachboatingseason.Certain
smarttransducershaverestrictionsonwhereantifoulingpaintis
applied.Pleaseconsultyourdealer.
Note:Transducerswithatemperaturesensormaynotwork
properlyifpainted.
Note:Neveruseketone-basedpaint.Ketonescanattack
manyplastics,possiblydamagingthesensor.
Note:Neverusespraypaintonyourtransducer.Spraying
incorporatestinyairbubbles,andamarinetransducercannot
transmitproperlythroughair.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergenttocleanthe
transducer.Ifthefoulingissevere,removethegrowthwith
atoughcleaningpad,suchasagreenScotchBrite
TM
pad
forexample.Becarefultoavoidscratchingthefaceofthe
transducer.
Note:HarshcleaningsolventssuchasacetoneWILLdamage
thetransducer.
