thehull.Forhullswithadeadriseangletheblockshould
alwaysbeused.
CuttingtheDeadriseblock
Unlessthevesselhullhasaatbottom,theDeadriseblock
mustbecuttotheshapeofthehull,doNOTovertightenthe
nutinanattempttocloseanygapsbetweentheblockandhull
asthismaydamagethetransducerandDeadriseblock.The
Deadriseblockisnotsuitableforvesselswithadeadriseangle
greaterthan25degrees.

1.Calculatethedeadriseangle.
Thedeadriseangleshouldbemeasuredontheoutsideof
thehullfromthelocationthatthetransduceristobemounted
usingananglenderorsimilardevice.
2.Adjustthebandsawtabletothemeasuredangleofyour
deadrise
3.Positionthedeadriseblockonthebandsawtablesothat
thetopoftheblockisagainstthebandsaw’scuttingguide.
4.Ensurethattheblockiscorrectlyorientated,thearrowontop
oftheDeadriseblockshouldbepointingtowardsthebow
ofthevessel.
5.PositiontheDeadriseblockandcuttingguidesothatthecut
willcreate2equallysizedparts.
Note:Youmustleaveaminimumof4mm(0.16in)gapfrom
thebottomoftheDeadriseblockasshowninthediagram
above.
