(3) Precautions for braking resistor
c
CAUTION
Install the braking resistor on a noncombustible object, such as metal.
Failure to do so may cause fi re.
Do not place the braking resistor close to a combustible object. Doing so
may cause fi re.
Do not install the braking resistor in an ambient environment where the
temperature is high, the humidity is high, or dew condensation occurs
easily or a place where dust, corrosive gas, explosive gas, fl ammable gas,
coolant mist, or salt damage exists. Always install the braking resistor in a
well-ventilated indoor place where it is not exposed to the direct sunlight.
Failure to do so may cause fi re.
The braking resistor generates heat by itself. So, install the braking resistor
far away from the robot driver or cables.
Additionally, carefully check the ventilation and dimensions so that the
ambient temperature of the robot driver does not exceed its operating
range. Failure to do so may cause fi re.
When installing the braking resistor in a place where it may be in contact
with a human body, cover it with breathable protective metal fi xtures so
that it is not directly in contact with a human body. Failure to do so may
cause personal injury.
