Normal Display
After the start-up test, the LCD panel displays 2 circulating messages:
• Top line: “RARITAN <Model>: <Unit Name>”
Where, Model=”MX48”, “MX416”, or “MX432”, and Unit Name is the device name of the unit. The
default unit names are “Base MX48”, “Base MX416”, or “Base MX432”. The base unit device name can
be changed using the System Configuration option of the administration menu. The second tier device
name can be changed using the Channel Configuration option and the Set 2
nd
Tier Names option of the
administration menu. Please refer to those sections for details.
• Second line: user port status (Figure 27). The user port status line displays a scrolling status of all 4-user
ports, one user port per second. The user’s active channel, Ch #, is displayed after the user port number.
The first 3 positions of the display denote the Scan/Skip/Tier status—S, K, or T—or a dot if these options
are not active.
− First position: S—the user port is in AutoScan mode.
− Second character: K—the user port is in AutoSkip mode.
− Third character: T—the user port is configured to connect to another MX

—tier.
− A dot appearing in any of these 3 positions indicates the option is not activated.

Seven functions can be performed from the front panel control: Set LCD Contrast, Set Tier, Set Password, Disable
Password, Logout, Select Sync Type, and Reset MX

Function Selection:
1. Press FUNC to enter the Function selection mode (Figure 28).
2. Use the Ç or È buttons to scroll through the Function List.
3. Press ENT to select the displayed function. Follow the sections below to perform the individual selected
function.
4. Press ESC at any time to return to the Normal Display.
